Ride Report: South Waterfront, part II

Today I went for a ride north of work towards Portland's true South Waterfront. The MUT that I was riding to go south actually stops its northward journey about a block north of my office building. To go any further you have to take a surface street (SW Moody Drive) except that it takes you straight through the construction zone of "The River Blocks at South Waterfront".

Today they were resurfacing parts of Moody so I followed the marked pedestrian detour to Macadam and took that for a few blocks North until it brought me back down to Moody. The next time I ride North, I should be able to take Moody all the way because the real construction is between Moody and the Willamette River. Eventually a path will be built along the waterfront so I won't need to take any surface streets unless I want to.

Since I was taking my time exploring, I only made it up to the Hawthorne Bridge before turning around. All-in-all it was a great ride. The temperature was in the low 60's with a thin cloud layer.
