Starting my new job

I started my new job on March 13^th after 4 weeks off with Melinda and Evan. It was sad leaving Mel and Evan but at the same time I was looking forward to getting back to work. My new job involves a 35 minute commute into Portland but the drive isn't that bad due to the time I'm coming and going. I have an actual office with a window and lots of new toys to play with (as in I actually unwrapped all of the following):

• Dell Latitude D810 Notebook


• Dell 20" LCD Monitor


• Dell Color Laser Printer 3000cn


• Palm Treo 650 smart phone


• Jabra JX10 Bluetooth headset

Granted, toys are fun to have and can make the days/months/years go by quicker but coworkers and the environment play a larger factor. Fortunately, I have some pretty good coworkers and the company and location aren't bad either.

The first 2 1/2 weeks have been a little slow (but in a good way) but I have already created an Outlook 2003 COM add-in (which is something I have never done before) and will be starting to work with Sharepoint 2003 to revamp their current intranet/extranet sites.

Oh, did I mention they provide free pop, juices, coffee and snacks, such as chips, cookies, trail mix, etc... :)
